Still Hot

The fever has continued. The antibiotics don't seem to be working. The focus has switched to Gary's lungs which showed some pneunomia and mouth ulcer. For now the mediport does not seem to be causing the infection. We have been visited by the lung drs and mouth surgeons. They are conferencing and will return with more ideas. In the meantime, Gary is laying here sweating, shaking with chills and literally pulling out his hair. He doesn't feel like eating but the aide just brought a double orange popsicle and he is excited!!
We have confidence that they are going to figure this bug out but it will take longer than we had hoped.

I'm thinking about you guys and praying for Gary to get rid of this sickness -- I know he will.

Tammy, We are so grateful that you continue to update the blog. Please remember to take care of yourself. Eat, sleep, and take walks. Your health depends on it. We continue to pray for you both.

Gary is an amazing fighter. Keep it up Gary. Being bald is cool! My son shaves his head and he looks awesome.
Prayers are with all of you.

The squeaky wheel gets the best pain meds and antibiotics. Don't be afraid to squeak loudly if necessary. ;)
Frequent mouth rinses of salt and baking soda in warm water turned out to be very helpful for my son post chemo. Praying for marked improvement!

Hey Buddy.
St. Louis is pulling for you. I had a brief meting with the big guy upstairs and he assured me that he was going to take care of you. He mentioned that the prayers for you keep pouring in and that he will be taking action soon.
We ARE coming to see you next time we are in town - I believe it won't be until the summer.
Put your hand up for a high five and know that we did the same.
